The fruit ranges in color from white to pink, purple, or even black when ripe, despite the name “white mulberry.” The berries are sweet, juicy, and can be eaten fresh or used in jams, desserts, and baking.

White mulberry is hardy, drought-tolerant once established, and thrives in a variety of soil types and climates. It prefers full sun and minimal maintenance. The tree is also valued for its shade and ornamental appeal, making it suitable for both fruit production and landscape use.
