Castlewellan Gold Conifer is a fast-growing evergreen tree known for its vibrant golden-yellow foliage. Ideal for hedging or screening, it forms a dense, upright habit and can reach heights of 10–15 metres if left untrimmed. Tolerant of wind, frost, and coastal conditions, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, adding year-round colour and structure to gardens.

Foliage: New growth is a vivid golden-yellow, which deepens to green-gold as it matures. The foliage stays dense and colourful year-round, especially when grown in full sun.

Growth Habit: Upright, narrow, and conical to columnar in shape. It forms a thick, bushy structure when regularly pruned.

Size:

Unpruned: Can reach 10–15 metres high and 4–6 metres wide.

As a Hedge: Easily maintained at 2–5 metres tall with regular trimming.

Growth Rate: Very fast—up to 1 metre per year.
