Blueberry ‘ Sunshine ‘

Sunshine Blueberry is a compact, self-fertile blueberry variety prized for its ornamental foliage and sweet, medium-sized berries. It belongs to Vaccinium hybrid, a genus of deciduous to semi-evergreen shrubs widely cultivated in temperate and subtropical regions.

The Sunshine Blueberry plant is small to medium-sized, typically growing 0.6–1.2 meters tall, with dense, bushy foliage that turns attractive shades of red or bronze in cooler seasons. It produces delicate white to pink bell-shaped flowers in spring, followed by small, round, blue-black fruits that are sweet, juicy, and ideal for fresh consumption, desserts, smoothies, jams, and baking.

This variety thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, acidic soil with a pH of 4.5–5.5. Regular watering and fertilization with acidic fertilizers promote healthy growth and consistent fruiting.
