This tree develops a symmetrical, upright oval to rounded canopy with a sturdy central leader, making it ideal for streets, parks, and residential landscapes. Its leaves are deeply lobed and bright green during the growing season, turning brilliant orange-red to vivid crimson in autumn, often earlier and more reliably than many other maples.

‘Celzam’ is valued for its rapid growth rate, adaptability to various soil types, and tolerance to urban conditions, including heat and moderate drought. It typically reaches about 12–18 meters in height with a spread of 9–12 meters at maturity. Low maintenance and strong branching make it less prone to breakage compared to silver maple.
