Acca sellowiana ‘ Feijoa ‘
Pineapple Guava

$20.00

Feijoa (Acca sellowiana) also known as Pineapple Guava or Guavasteen, Feijoa is an evergreen shrub or small tree valued for its sweet, aromatic fruit, attractive silver-green foliage, and ornamental flowers. Native to South America, it typically grows 2–4 metres tall, but can be pruned to shape as a hedge or small specimen tree.

Feijoa produces fragrant, edible flowers with white petals and red stamens in spring to early summer, followed by egg-shaped green fruits that ripen in autumn. The fruit has a unique, tangy flavour—a mix of pineapple, guava, and mint—and is eaten fresh or used in jams, desserts, and smoothies.

Feijoas are hardy, drought-tolerant, and thrive in full sun with well-drained soil. They are also tolerant of coastal conditions and light frosts. Cross-pollination between different varieties improves fruiting, though some types are self-fertile.

Ideal for: edible gardens, hedges, screens, or ornamental planting in temperate to subtropical climates.
