Cider Gum

Eucalyptus gunnii, commonly known as cider gum, is a fast-growing evergreen tree prized for its attractive blue-grey, rounded juvenile foliage and smooth, pale bark. As the tree matures, the leaves become longer and greener, creating a beautiful contrast between young and adult growth. Small white flowers appear in spring to summer, attracting bees and other pollinators.

Cider gum typically grows 10–20 meters tall but can be maintained at a smaller size with regular pruning, making it popular for gardens and container growing when young. It prefers full sun, well-drained soil, and is more cold-tolerant than many other eucalyptus species. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and low maintenance.

This tree is widely used as an ornamental feature, for foliage harvesting, and in modern landscapes due to its soft color and elegant form. Its aromatic leaves add extra sensory appeal to gardens.
