Magnolia grandiflora ‘ Teddy Bear ‘

Magnolia ‘Teddy Bear’ is a compact, evergreen magnolia prized for its glossy foliage and large, fragrant, creamy-white flowers. Unlike many deciduous magnolias, ‘Teddy Bear’ retains its dark green leaves year-round, providing continuous garden interest. The blooms are cup-shaped, velvety, and slightly fragrant, usually appearing in late spring to early summer.

The foliage is thick, leathery, and glossy, forming a dense, pyramidal canopy. ‘Teddy Bear’ has a slow to medium growth rate and typically grows 4–6 metres tall with a spread of 2–3 metres, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, hedges, or as a feature specimen.

It prefers well-drained, fertile soil and thrives in full sun to partial shade. Being evergreen and relatively compact, it requires minimal pruning—mainly to remove dead or damaged growth.
