Magnolia figo ‘ Port Wine’

Magnolia ‘Port Wine’ is a beautiful deciduous magnolia admired for its rich, wine-colored blooms. The flowers are large and goblet-shaped, opening in early to mid-spring before the leaves appear. Their deep burgundy to reddish-purple petals create a bold and elegant display, especially when planted as a feature tree.

This variety has a compact, upright growth habit, usually reaching about 3–5 meters in height, making it suitable for small to medium gardens. After flowering, fresh green leaves emerge, forming a dense and attractive canopy through summer.

Magnolia ‘Port Wine’ grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil. It is perfect for use as a specimen tree, in cottage gardens, or near patios where its dramatic spring flowers can be fully appreciated.
