Lime ‘ Tahitian ‘

Tahitian Lime (Citrus × latifolia), also known as Persian Lime, is a popular evergreen citrus tree valued for its large, juicy, seedless fruits and refreshing aroma. It is widely grown for home use and commercial production. The tree has a neat, upright growth habit with smooth, glossy green leaves and fewer thorns compared to other lime varieties.

A mature Tahitian lime tree can reach 4–6 m in height when planted in the ground, but it can be kept smaller with pruning or grown successfully in large pots. The white, lightly fragrant flowers appear mainly in warm seasons and attract pollinators.

The fruits are medium to large, oval-shaped, with smooth, thin green skin that may turn light yellow when fully ripe. The flesh is pale green, very juicy, and strongly acidic with a clean, fresh lime flavor. Because the fruits are nearly seedless, they are ideal for fresh juice, beverages, desserts, marinades, seafood dishes, and cocktails.
