The Fuyu persimmon is a popular non-astringent variety of persimmon known for its sweet, mild flavor and crisp texture. Unlike astringent types, Fuyu persimmons can be eaten while still firm, similar to an apple. They have a squat, tomato-like shape with smooth, deep orange skin and vibrant, juicy flesh. Fuyu persimmons are excellent for fresh eating, slicing into salads, or adding to desserts, and they contain high levels of fiber, vitamins A and C, and antioxidants.
