Acer palmatum ‘Ryusen’

Acer palmatum ‘Ryusen’ is an exceptionally elegant weeping Japanese maple, prized for its distinctive cascading habit and graceful, flowing form. The branches grow downward in long, sweeping layers, creating a beautiful waterfall effect that becomes more impressive as the tree matures. Its fresh green, palmate foliage provides a soft and refined appearance throughout spring and summer, while the leaves develop striking shades of golden yellow, orange and red in autumn.

The naturally pendulous growth makes ‘Ryusen’ an excellent focal point for Japanese gardens, courtyards, patios, rock gardens, containers and areas beside ponds or pathways. It can also be trained to emphasize its height and cascading structure, allowing the branches to fall dramatically from an elevated position. With its graceful branching, attractive foliage and beautiful seasonal colour, Acer palmatum ‘Ryusen’ brings a sense of movement, tranquility and sophistication to the landscape.
