Grevillea lanigera ‘Mt. Tamboritha’

$15.00

Grevillea ‘Mount Tamboritha’, commonly referred to as Grevillea Mt Tamboritha, is a popular and attractive evergreen shrub known for its fine-textured foliage and long-lasting flowers. It was originally selected from wild plants near Mount Tamboritha in Victoria, Australia, and has become a favourite in gardens worldwide for its hardiness and ornamental appeal.

Mt Tamboritha has a low, mounding to semi‑prostrate growth habit with dense, needle‑like, deep green leaves that form a neat, compact cushion of foliage. Throughout much of the year, it produces clusters of small, spider‑like flowers that are typically rich shades of red and pink, though some selections may lean toward softer tones. These nectar‑rich blooms are highly attractive to nectar‑feeding birds such as honeyeaters, as well as bees and butterflies.

This Grevillea thrives in full sun and well‑drained soil, and once established it is tolerant of drought and moderate coastal exposure. It prefers soils on the leaner side and does not like heavy, water‑logged conditions. Maintenance is low; occasional light pruning after flowering helps maintain a compact shape and encourages more blooms.
