Pinus strobus ‘Merrimack’

Pinus strobus ‘Merrimack’, commonly known as Merrimack Dwarf Eastern White Pine, is a compact, slow-growing evergreen conifer with a dense, rounded to broadly mounded form. It features soft, slender, blue-green needles arranged in attractive clusters, giving the plant a fine, graceful texture.

This dwarf cultivar is an excellent choice for small gardens, rockeries, borders, foundation plantings, and containers. Its compact habit makes it especially useful where a full-sized Eastern White Pine would be too large. The attractive evergreen foliage provides year-round colour and structure.

‘Merrimack’ prefers full sun to partial shade and performs best in moist, well-drained soil. It is generally low-maintenance once established and works beautifully as a specimen plant or as part of a mixed conifer garden. Its soft foliage and naturally compact growth make it a distinctive addition to both formal and naturalistic landscapes.
