It has a striking elongated, pentagonal shape and smooth, thin, golden-yellow skin when ripe. The flesh is juicy, fragrant, and nearly seedless, with a flavor often described as a refreshing blend of pineapple, papaya, and strawberry, sometimes called the “champagne fruit” because of its sparkling, tangy taste.
