King Billy is a mid-season European plum variety known for its attractive deep purple skin and firm yellow-green flesh. The fruit is medium-sized, juicy, and has a sweet flavor with a mild tartness, making it excellent for fresh eating, drying, and cooking. It ripens around late January to early February in the Southern Hemisphere. The tree grows to a moderate size and prefers a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil. As it is self-sterile, it requires a compatible pollinator nearby for good fruit production.
