Camellia sasanqua ‘ Yuletide ‘

Camellia sasanqua ‘Yuletide’ is a striking evergreen shrub known for its vibrant red blooms that appear in late autumn to early winter, often around the festive season—hence the name “Yuletide.” The flowers are single, bright crimson-red with a prominent cluster of golden-yellow stamens in the centre, creating a bold and cheerful display.

Its foliage is glossy, dark green, and dense, providing year-round structure and contrast to the vivid flowers. ‘Yuletide’ has an upright, compact growth habit and typically reaches about 2–3 metres tall, making it ideal for hedging, screening, espalier, or as a feature plant in garden beds or large pots.

This camellia prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil and grows best in a partly shaded position, although it can tolerate some sun once established. Regular watering during dry periods and mulching will help maintain healthy roots and encourage abundant flowering.
