Silver Plum Bromeliad, commonly known as Aechmea fasciata or the Silver Vase Plant, is a striking tropical bromeliad admired for its silvery foliage and long-lasting flower spike. The plant forms a neat rosette of arching, grey-green leaves marked with soft silver bands, giving it a frosted, metallic appearance.
At the center of the rosette, it produces a tall, upright flower spike with bright pink bracts and small purple-blue flowers emerging from them. The colorful bracts can last for several months, making it a popular ornamental plant for both indoor and outdoor tropical gardens.

This bromeliad usually grows about 45–60 cm tall and wide. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers well-drained soil. Like many bromeliads, it absorbs water through its central “cup,” so keeping a small amount of clean water in the center helps it stay healthy. It prefers warm, humid conditions and should be protected from strong direct sunlight and frost.
