Acca sellowiana, commonly known as feijoa or pineapple guava, is a small evergreen shrub or tree native to South America, particularly Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. It is widely grown in subtropical and mild-temperate regions for its aromatic, flavorful fruits.

The feijoa plant typically grows 1.5–4 meters tall, with dense, silvery-green leaves and attractive, edible flowers. The flowers have showy red stamens and white petals, adding ornamental value to the plant. Fruit development follows, producing oval-shaped green fruits about 4–7 cm long. The flesh is soft, aromatic, and sweet-tart, with flavors reminiscent of pineapple, guava, and strawberry. The skin is slightly gritty but edible.

Feijoa thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soils. It is moderately drought-tolerant once established and can withstand mild frost. Regular watering and fertilization improve fruit yield and quality.

Feijoa is valued both for its delicious fruits, which can be eaten fresh, used in jams, desserts, and beverages, and for its ornamental appeal in gardens. Its combination of attractive foliage, flowers, and unique fruits makes it a popular choice for home gardens and small orchards.
