Silver Wattle

Silver wattle is a fast-growing evergreen to semi-evergreen tree admired for its soft, silvery-grey foliage and bright golden-yellow flowers. The leaves are finely divided and feathery, giving the tree a light, elegant appearance throughout the year. In late winter to early spring, it produces masses of small, fluffy, fragrant flowers arranged in round clusters, making it highly ornamental and attractive to bees.

This tree can grow quite tall, often reaching 10–25 meters, and forms a spreading canopy. It is hardy, drought-tolerant once established, and adapts well to poor or sandy soils. Silver wattle prefers full sun and good drainage and is commonly used as a feature tree, for windbreaks, or in naturalized landscapes.

Apart from its beauty, silver wattle is also valued for soil improvement, as it fixes nitrogen and enhances soil fertility. However, due to its vigorous growth and self-seeding nature, it should be managed carefully in gardens.
