Sambucus nigra ‘Black Lace’ is an elegant deciduous shrub prized for its dramatic, finely dissected purple-black foliage that closely resembles the delicate leaves of a Japanese maple. In late spring to early summer, the plant is covered with large clusters of soft pink, lightly lemon-scented flowers that stand out beautifully against the dark foliage.
