The slender glossy green leaves are highlighted by yellow-orange flowers produced.

It is known for its yellow/orange flowers which are strongly fragrant.

The flowers have been used for worship at temples, as a beauty ornament and natural perfume.
The essence of the flower has been used to make fragrant oils and is one of the main ingredients in the perfume ‘Joy’ by Jean Patou; the most expensive perfume in the world.
