Heuchera, commonly known as Coral Bells, is a hardy and eye-catching perennial valued for its colourful foliage and delicate sprays of bell-shaped flowers. Native to North America, this versatile plant is widely used in borders, garden beds, and containers for its year-round ornamental appeal.

Heuchera is especially loved for its striking leaves, which come in a wide range of shades including deep burgundy, lime green, silver, caramel, purple, and almost black. The foliage is often ruffled or lobed, forming neat, low-growing mounds that add texture and contrast to garden designs. While the leaves are the main feature, slender stems rise above the foliage in late spring to early summer, carrying clusters of tiny coral, pink, red, or white bell-shaped flowers that attract bees and butterflies.

This plant prefers partial shade but can tolerate some morning sun. It grows best in well-drained, fertile soil and benefits from regular watering, especially in warmer climates. Heuchera is relatively low maintenance and works beautifully as a groundcover, edging plant, or underplanting beneath shrubs and trees.
