A Shepard avocado has a bright yellow inside and holds its colour and flavour very well even after being cut. It has a glossy green skin and the flesh inside is quite firm.The Shepard avocado has occasionally been described as a Dwarf variety. It may perhaps be better described as having a semi-dwarfing growth habit.
